Good-bye Oregon

My whole life I have always dreamed of traveling. I would imagine visiting places such as Ireland, Australia, Sweden and even Africa. One place I never envisioned myself visiting let alone LIVING in was Vietnam. Yet, Vietnam will be my home for the next year. How did this happen? Well, I happened to fall in love with a world traveler who has an equally adventurous family. When the opportunity presented itself for us to move to Vietnam, how could we say no? So, this blog is the story of our adventures and misadventures (hopefully not too many of those)!  I hope I can do justice to the amazing journey we are about to begin!

I should also explain the title of my blog. I love Oregon. It has always been and will always be my heart. When we made the decision to move, I must admit I felt a bittersweet joy. First off,  I would have to leave my family and friends behind. Those of you who know me well know that I don't do well with change, but especially not when it impacts those I love. Change is a good thing- I know. It's not always easy, and it's not always fun; however, it is something that will help you learn and grow into the person you are supposed to be. So, I know it may seem as though I've digressed a bit, but I haven't. The title of by blog is "She Flies with Her Own Wings." For those of you who don't know, this is the Oregon Motto. (If you didn't, don't feel bad- I found it out by accident!). I find the motto appropriate for this next phase in my life for obvious reasons. Anyway, I am running on little to no sleep and I have to "wake-up" in less than three hours. So, I guess this is good-bye Oregon. I'll miss you, but I've got things to do! :)
